The introduction of new digital industrial technology known as Industry 4.0, is a transformation that is powered by different foundational technological advances. In this evolution, the physical systems, and IT systems will be connected along the value chain beyond a single enterprise. These connected cyberphysical systems can interact with one another using standard Internet-based protocols and analyze data to predict failure, configure themselves, and adapt to changes. The classical production hierarchy in factories, which is strongly characterized by centralized control, is increasingly being replaced by a flexible, self-organized factory.
